Yes. Every parent and guardian of a Prince of Wales student is automatically a member. There’s no sign-up and no fee.

We meet five times a year at 7:00 PM, in the PW Library or online. We email the online link before each meeting.

Come to a PAC meeting, or email pwpacinfo@gmail.com. No experience needed, and even one event helps. We’re looking for help with fundraiser pickups, events, translation, and a little website help.

We suggest $100 per student, but any amount helps. Every dollar stays at PW. You’re welcome to name a club, team or project in your note, but general donations are preferred so the PAC can fund where the need is greatest.

1. School Cash Online (recommended): log in at vsb.schoolcashonline.com and choose Prince of Wales Secondary PAC. Donations of $20 or more get an automatic tax receipt, and the VSB is covering the processing fee this year.
2. E-transfer to pwpacinfo@gmail.com with your student’s name in the message. No fees, but no tax receipt.
3. Cheque or cash in a sealed envelope to the school office. Make cheques payable to Prince of Wales Secondary School PAC.

You can add a note naming a club, team or project, but it’s optional. We encourage general donations so the PAC can direct funds where the need is greatest, across classrooms, clubs and the computer lab goal.

Last year, PW parents donated $45,000 for library books, athletics equipment, student clubs, Grade 8 camp and Grade 12 celebrations. Past donations have also bought computers, whiteboards, 3D printers and sports equipment, and covered registration fees for national and international competitions.

This year’s big goal is $50,000 to replace one of PW’s computer labs. Three labs need replacing, and we’re funding one per year. Donations also support teacher requests, the school musical and student clubs.

Teachers and club sponsors apply each semester. The executive reviews each request against the budget, and parents vote at a PAC meeting: teacher requests in October, club requests at the November 9 pitch night. Money raised during the year tops up requests in Semester 2. See About for more.

Club sponsors fill out the PAC funding request form each semester, and clubs asking for funding present at the November 9 PAC meeting. Clubs also help raise part of their funding, for example by helping with a PAC fundraiser like the Holiday Decor Sale or the spring plant sale. Questions? Email us.
